To Our Patients:

Riemer Eye Center has been monitoring information from the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the  CDC, MDHHS regarding COVID-19.

Because we are the only medical/surgical eye care provider servicing over 6 counties, it is necessary for our offices to remain open for patients with serious vision threatening eye conditions and emergencies.

For the care and safety of our patients we have implemented the following:

Our doctors are assessing each patient chart personally and you will be contacted by our office regarding their recommendation for your appointment.  All vision/routine exams will be rescheduled.

If the doctor determines that you should be seen in our office:

  • We ask that you do not bring more than 1 person with you into the building.
  • You will be asked the following questions:

o   In the last 2 weeks have you had any of the following:

  1. Any respiratory health issues/cough
  2. Fever
  3. Travel outside of the area
  4. Been exposed to anyone with COVID-19

We recommend that you take precautions to protect yourself from the virus.  This includes limiting travel, frequent/proper, handwashing, not touching around your face and practicing social distancing.

We are continuing to increase our infection prevention procedures by having frequent cleaning schedules and removing items that are touched such as magazines and coffee.

Our optical shops will be open by appointment only.  You will be contacted when your optical order is available and we will work with you to pick up orders or have them mailed to you.

If you have an urgent/emergent eye problem or sudden change in vision, please contact our office, we are available 24 hours to take your call.

We continue to closely monitor the situation and will keep you updated.

We want you to be safe and secure during this time.  Please contact us with any questions or concerns.
