Brandon Riemer, D.O.


Dr. Brandon Riemer is originally from Ludington, Michigan and graduated from Hope College. He continued his education and graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed residency at Metro Health Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He returned home in 2020 to practice with Dr. Andrew Riemer at Riemer Eye Center in the Manistee and Ludington locations.

In addition to board certification, Dr. Riemer was selected as Director of Ophthalmology at the Mayo Clinic Health System, has won first place research award from the Consortium of Osteopathic Residencies in Ophthalmology, Chief Resident at Metro Health Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and has been an associate professor at Michigan State University.

Dr. Riemer specializes in cataract surgery and ocular diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and dry eye syndrome.

During his residency training Dr. Riemer lead research on cataract surgery techniques and presented different treatments in regards to corneal scarring. He has also given lectures at Metro Health Hospital in Grand Rapids about ocular diseases and pediatric ophthalmology.

In his spare time, Dr. Brandon enjoys challenging himself with long distance racing, and has finished in Ironman Triathlon in Wisconsin, Arizona, and Lake Placid, as well has running in the Detroit Marathon.
